Therapeutic Intervention
The technologies we have developed, in addition to enabling early detection of cancer and monitoring of therapy, also allow for therapeutic intervention. Applications toward therapy include:
- Specific determination of cancer type
- Accurate localization of cancerous tumor
- Targeted site for drug delivery
- Magnetic concentration of anticancer drug
- Destruction of tumor via hyperthermia
- Reduction of chemotherapy side effects
- More accurate determination of the need for anti rejection drugs
- Monitor status of transplant health
- Better determination of amount and type of chemotherapy
Of particular promise are targeted hyperthermia therapy and targeted chemotherapy delivery. Both technologies should make possible the targeted destruction of cancer cells, while sparing healthy cells.
